What is a voice acting game?

A voice acting game gives you a character, a script, and a reason to perform. In voiceovergame, the challenge is to fit your interpretation into a short film scene. You hear the original, record your version, and watch the scene again with your voice in it.

You perform the words yourself. There is no text-to-speech generation, voice cloning, or automated performance score. Use the replay to decide whether a take conveys what you intended.

Pick a character with something to say

Try Thom’s two-word reply in Tears of Steel for a small change with a big emotional effect. Regret, resignation, and defensiveness can make “I know” feel like three different answers.

For a contrasting character, play Franck negotiating half a minute. Keep the humor dry and listen for the pauses. For urgency, Proog checking on Emo moves from concern to a warning.

Change one part of the delivery

Record a clear, natural take first. Then change one detail: emphasize a different word, pause before the answer, lower the energy, or make the intention more direct. Keep the words and timing recognizable so you can hear the effect of the change.

Listen to the other character instead of treating each line as a standalone speech. Your answer should respond to what they just said. For a repeatable exercise, use the beginner voice acting practice plan.

Trade parts on one device

Select both characters and pass the microphone between performers, or give each role your own distinct voice. The studio saves each line separately, so you can redo one part without re-recording the whole exchange.

This is a same-device activity. There are no remote multiplayer rooms, audience voting, or online matchmaking. You can share a downloaded result after the scene is complete.
